Campaign Planning

Campaign Planning is the formal consideration of an organization's future course. All campaign planning deals with at least one of three key questions:

  • What do we do?
  • For whom do we do it?
  • How do we excel?

In business campaign planning, the third question is better phrased "How can we beat or avoid competition?". In many organizations, this is viewed as a process for determining where an organization is going over the next year or more -typically 3 to 5 years, although some extend their vision to 20 years.

In order to determine where it is going, the organization needs to know exactly where it stands, then determines where it wants to go and how it will get there. The resulting document is called the "campaign plan".

Marketing Campaigns are designed to get results; planning, implication and responses are measured to determine the success of each campaign. The key to any marketing campaign is the target you choose; many companies have attempted a shotgun approach to a large market without a specific target, hoping to jump start results or sales; most times it does not work.

Target marketing is the key to campaign success: How good is your data? How old in your data? How did you get your data? Have you been using the same data list for several years? Doing the same thing and getting the same results is not a good approach, and this has to be taken into consideration when planning a campaign. Imagesmith offers data research by NAICS or SIC Codes, demographics such as income, home value, home owner, age, number of employees by county, zip codes, state or radius. All data lists are NCOA (National Change of Address) approved by the USPS to insure they are deliverable.
